1. Digital Product — Immediate Delivery
VibeGuardian sells digital security audit reports (PDF files) that are generated and delivered immediately upon payment. Once a report is generated and made available for download, the transaction is considered complete. All prices are in US Dollars (USD).
As a digital product delivered instantly, this purchase is exempt from the FTC's Cooling-Off Rule (16 CFR Part 429), which applies to door-to-door sales and does not cover digital goods purchased online.
2. General Refund Policy
All sales are final. Because our reports are digital products delivered instantly upon purchase, we generally do not offer refunds once the report has been generated and delivered.
This policy exists because:
- The scan and AI audit consume real compute resources (server time, API costs) at the moment of generation
- The report is delivered immediately — there is no "trial period" or delayed access
- The report content (security findings, code patches) cannot be "returned" once viewed
This policy is consistent with applicable US consumer protection laws regarding digital goods with immediate delivery.
3. Exceptions — When We Will Issue a Refund
We will issue a full refund in the following cases:
- Report not delivered — If you paid but never received the PDF report (download link missing and email not delivered), contact us and we will either regenerate the report or issue a full refund.
- Scan failure before report generation — If the scan failed (error status) and no report was generated, you will not be charged. If you were charged despite a failure, contact us for a full refund.
- Duplicate charge — If you were charged twice for the same scan due to a technical error, the duplicate will be refunded.
- Billing error — If the amount charged differs from the price displayed at checkout (e.g., discount not applied correctly), we will refund the difference or issue a full refund at your request.
4. Wallet Top-Up Credits
VibeGuardian uses a wallet-based pay-per-MB billing model. When you top up, US dollars are added to your wallet (with a volume bonus on tiers ≥ $50) and are valid for 30 days from the date of each top-up. Each scan debits the wallet based on the actual scannable size we observe after cloning your repository, at the published per-MB rate for the chosen Level (Level 1 Haiku 4.5 at $1.50/MB, Level 2 Sonnet 4.6 at $3.00/MB, Level 3 Opus 4.7 at $6.00/MB, 1 MB minimum · Level 0 is free).
Wallet credits are not refundable once added to the wallet. However:
- Scan refused before LLM execution. If the post-clone budget gate refuses your scan because the actual cost would exceed your wallet balance, you are not charged anything · the wallet is untouched.
- Scan cancelled before LLM execution. If you cancel from the budget-confirmation modal before the scan starts the LLM passes, you are not charged · the wallet is untouched.
- Mid-flight kill switch. If our cost-tracker aborts a scan because cumulative LLM spend exceeded your wallet balance, you receive whatever findings were collected up to that point and the wallet is debited only for the work actually performed.
- Reconciliation refunds. If the actual scannable size we observe is smaller than the pre-scan estimate, the difference is refunded to your wallet automatically as a fresh 30-day credit batch.
- Technical error on our end. If a scan fails due to an infrastructure failure on our side and a debit was nevertheless recorded, the debited amount will be restored to your wallet upon request.
- Credits that expire unused within the 30-day window are not eligible for refund. The wallet drains oldest credits first (Expiration-First) so you never lose credits you could have used by running scans.
5. How to Request a Refund
If you believe you qualify for a refund under the exceptions above:
- Email us at support@vibeguardian.dev
- Include your Scan ID (shown on the results page and in your email receipt)
- Describe the issue (e.g., "Report not delivered", "Duplicate charge")
- We will respond within 48 hours and process eligible refunds within 5–10 business days
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used at checkout.
6. Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback (payment dispute) with your bank or credit card company instead of contacting us first, we will provide Stripe with evidence of the completed delivery (PDF download confirmation, email delivery logs). We encourage you to contact us directly at support@vibeguardian.dev before filing a dispute — we can resolve most issues within 48 hours.
7. Governing Law
This Refund Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, consistent with the governing law provision in our Terms of Service.
